Inverness Ice Centre secured life saving equipment

One of the largest wet weather facilities in the North has secured its own defibrillator, which members say may just save someone’s life.

The Inverness Ice Centre on Bught Drive raised more than £1,600 to ensure the well used sports and events facility has the life saving equipment available to all users of the centre.

Statement from the Directors of Inverness Ice Centre

The Directors of the Ice Centre are keen to ensure that the centre is there for future generations and for this reason they are considering options on how best to achieve this; one of which has been to approach The Highland Council’s arms-length Charity High Life Highland to invite them in for discussions.

Meetings have taken place between both organisations but discussions are still at a very early stage and the board has not reached any decisions in terms of making recommendations to the Ice Centre membership.

A newsletter is currently being drafted and the Board are hoping to circulate that to members and key stakeholders over the next few weeks offering an update on the current position. Ice Centre staff have also been consulted and kept up-to-date with the options and discussions taking place.
