These are uniquely challenging times for the ice sports sector across the UK. Therefore, the announcement from Sports Minister Joe FitzPatrick of a £2,000,000 financial support package for the sector is extremely welcome. The announcements follow intense lobbying from Scottish Curling ((SC) and the Scottish Ice Rink Association (SIRA) and our thanks go out Bruce Crawford (SC) and Mike Ferguson (SIRA) for their hard work and endeavours on our behalf. I would also like to thank our CEO Gordon Barron for his detailed submission and lobbying efforts. I will forward more detail on specific funding allocation as it becomes available.
