Area 13 hosted two Bonspiels on Saturday 4th February at Inverness Ice Centre
With all sheets fully used during the day both bonspiels went very well with a good atmosphere throughout. Also great to have so many junior curlers competing on good ice along with the new curlers from the Gateway teams.
Results are as follows:-
BOOKLESS QUAICH
The Hospital team of David Baille, Jenny MacGregor and Derek MacDonald and skipped by Andy Wood were winners of the Bookless with 4 Points, 16 Shots up and 9 Ends. Runners up was the Nairn 1 team of Andrew Orunski, Hamish Clark, Eric Pehrent and skipped by Neil Pottie with 4 Points, 12 Shots up and 10 Ends.

MACGREGOR KETTLE
The Moray Juniors team of Lillia Clark, Ben Rankin, Fraser Rankin (Skip) and last stones thrown by Owen Watson won the MacGregor Kettle in convincing fashion with 72 Points. With Locheye and Belmaduthy tieing on 63 Points both teams selected a player to return to the ice to deliver a stone to decide on the runners up position. The “draw shot challenge” was won by Andrew Deeth over Paul Moodie (Belmaduthy) to secure second place for Locheye. The Locheye team consisted of Russel MacKay, Emma Deeth, Hamish MacRae and skipped by Andrew Deeth.

Thank you to everyone for taking part and to the committee for organising. Special mention to the staff at the Ice Centre for looking after us so well.
