Skating Lessons
We’re delighted to be able to re-introduce our skating lessons which follows the SkateUK Learn To Ice Skate programme.
With the guidance of a qualified coach, you’ll soon be gracefully sliding round the ice pad, performing set manoeuvres and building up a record of your achievement as you pass each one of the 8 skill levels, before moving on to Bronze, Silver and Gold Stars.
The lessons take place as part of a longer session on the ice, so you can practice on your own either before or after your actual lesson.
Your first lesson is free, just so you can get a feel for what’s involved without committing to anything. Thereafter, each session costs £7.50 (or £6.00 if you join the Friends of Inverness Ice Centre scheme).
For that price, you get access to the ice rink for the whole session, use of a pair of ice skates and your 30 minutes coaching at the time set for your current skill level.
Advance booking is strongly recommended – book the slot appropriate to your current skill level, but remember – you can go on the ice any time during the session to brush up the skills you’ve learned.
So, if you are working on Level 3, you book the slot for Skill Level 3/4. You get kitted up for the start of the session (1:15pm), practice what you want for the first half hour, then get your lesson between 1:45 and 2:15, then the rest of the session is yours to work on the areas you need to get to the next skill level.
