The situation regarding the ability for the Ice Centre to re-open has been forever changing and we are keeping pace with these. To keep you updated, we have regularly posted information from the sport’s governing bodies and updated risk assessments to our website, as well as having hosted Zoom meetings to engage with the sports. Some of these calls have been recorded and can be viewed from our website.
To avoid confusion, to date because the guidance was continually changing, we have resisted making any formal announcements regarding our re-opening. We wished to have a greater level of clarity and certainty about the way forward from the Scottish Government before doing so. I am however aware that as the new season is rapidly approaching, you are eager to hear about what’s happening at the Centre.
Plans to re-open are now at an advanced stage and we believe we will be in a position to issue a statement following clarification from the First Minister on Thursday.
There has been a huge amount of planning, preparation, as well as physical alterations being made to be ready to re-open safely and I look forward to sharing these with you later this week.
