In total 10 teams took part playing two 6-end games on excellent ice. In addition to the leading teams above entries
also from Dornoch, Locheye 2, Caberfeidh, Killearnan, Ross Ladies 2, Muir of Ord 1 and Muir of Ord 2.
Having the young juniors guesting in the bonspiel again added to this fun night. This year Louis Lobban, William Peers-
Wood, Alex MacDonald and Elizabeth McCarthy played. This was the first bonspiel for William, Alex and Elizabeth. All
the juniors played well. It was a good night for William as, in addition to being part of the Richard MacKenzie’s Locheye
1 winning team, he was also presented with the “Oor Wullie” award by Denise following discussion with skips. Thanks
goes to Denise Ross for organising the youngsters. Well done also to Chairman, Jim Thomson for introducing new
young curlers into the Caberfeidh team. Special mention to Dr John stalwart, Peter Fraser for skipping the Belmaduthy
team to second place after drawing their first game.
We had an excellent raffle with £236 raised on the night. This covered the bonspiel prizes and the £60 paid out by the
Province in subsidising the juniors with some money left over. Thanks to the curlers for providing a good selection of
raffle prizes and again thanks to Denise for her help with the raffle.
